The First Day

I survived my 14-hour layover at the Frankfurt airport! Thanks to my computer, some sleeping pills, and a few bars of good German chocolate, it was a lot less terrible than I expected. I arrived in Naples Monday morning, and my dad met me there by surprise. Here are just a few snapshots from my preliminary explorations, before exhaustion hit me and I returned to the hotel for a nap.






For dinner, an insalata di mare (seafood salad) and melanzane al funghetto (pickled eggplant). Yum!

The air is sweet and filled with laughter. I can't wait for tomorrow, but right now, I need some sleep. Goodnight!
